Performers College Patron Omari Douglas opens the Birmingham campus

Patron of Performers College, Omari Douglas who was born and brought up in Wolverhampton had this to say about his hopes for Performers College Birmingham:

“Performers College already has a reputation that has been withheld for such a long time and so I think essentially what is happening is that we are bringing that calibre of training to a different and exciting city location. It is going to bring opportunities for people to study something that they love and in a lot of circumstances for people that might not necessarily have the opportunity to venture too far from where they grow up.

I think a lot of the ceilings that are in the industry are to do with opportunity and I think that starts from access to training, otherwise, we will continue to see the same demographics of new talent. It is really important that Performers College are discovering and nurturing young performers from across all parts of the country and so having this new campus in Birmingham is really going to help that.”

Principal of Performers College Birmingham, Adam Davenport and BIMM Group Executive Principal, Vaseema Hamilton.

Principal of Performers College Birmingham, Adam Davenport summed things up about the launch:

“I am so delighted that we have officially opened Performers College in Birmingham. We welcomed a variety of industry partners, including Birmingham Royal Ballet, ACE Dance and Music, and the Commonwealth Games casting team, to celebrate the launch of our college.

“We are thrilled to bring our unique vocational training in acting, musical theatre and dance to the heart of Digbeth and be a part of the thriving performing arts scene in the midlands, preparing the next generation of young performers for a career in this exciting industry.”
