Masterclass: Nigel West

Nigel is a sought after Director who has worked with the best in the business. With over 20 years working in theatre, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the room.

Working with our students, Nigel shares his understanding of approaching the audition room and prepares them for when they may have to read a script and perform with a director in the room.

Here’s what Performers College student Kyle Potter had to say about the experience;

‘Over the course of our third year at Performers, we had such a variety of workshops differing from every angle of the training, and my experience in our session with Nigel West was such a valuable one!

Being in an audition room is a lot about showing your talent. Although this is the main point of an audition, we spoke a lot about how to present yourself in ‘the room’ and how to speak to the casting panel from the moment you step into the room until the moment you step out!

Nigel gave us so much of his knowledge of how to tackle an audition from an acting perspective, and that really made me feel set up and ready to show the best version of myself when in front of a panel in an audition! Such a valuable experience helped us feel more comfortable going into graduation and being a part of ‘the industry’.
