Birmingham campus welcomes actor and Patron Omari Douglas for Q&A
Our final year Musical Theatre and Acting students were treated to an intimate session with Bafta-nominated actor Omari Douglas (It’s a Sin, Constellations). Omari was in conversation with Careers Manager Katie Kerr, then took questions from the departing students, dispensing advice on topics from self-taping to agent relationships, to what inspires him. Thanks to Omari for joining us.
Birmingham student performs with theatre icon Kerry Ellis
BA (Hons) Musical Theatre and Dance student Tiegan Wallace performed with West End legend Kerry Ellis at West End Weekend which took place at the Old Joint Stock in Birmingham. Tiegan auditioned after course leader Jennifer Mitchell posted the audition details on our internal system, and secured the role. She performed a solo, and joined Kerry for a duet of For Good from iconic show Wicked, in which Kerry played the lead role.
Essex Campus holds Disney Auditions
Huge thanks to our guests representing Disney for joining us last week in Essex. Our third-year Musical Theatre students had the opportunity to audition for some exciting park roles and received some amazing feedback. Fingers crossed we’ll see some of you at Disneyland very soon!
Essex graduates take the stage in new production of Evita
Some amazing news this month as we congratulate three graduates on joining the cast of Evita at The London Palladium. Mireia Mambo, Barney Hudson, and Kyeirah D’Marni will be appearing alongside Rachel Zegler (Disney’s Snow White) as Eva Peron, in a re-imagining by director Jamie Lloyd.
Level 4 students complete Stage Combat award
Thanks to True Edge for taking our first-year acting students through their stage combat training. True Edge visited our Birmingham campus to train our students in armed and unarmed combat, for which they all receive a BADC Foundation Award in Stage Combat.
Northern Ballet School begins preparations for summer show
Our dedicated Year 2 and 3 Jazz Focus students have been hard at work as rehearsals get underway for our annual Summer Show. The building has been buzzing as faculty member Joanne Pirrie, guest choreographer Kirsty Sparks and NBS alumnus Adam Denman have each been putting the students through their paces. All three have been truly inspirational, creating fantastic pieces whilst challenging the students, and passing on valuable industry knowledge and insight.
Brighton and Manchester campuses welcome special guests
Our Brighton and Manchester campuses welcomed special guests in for some incredible workshops and auditions. Manchester were visited by Tag Live and Butlins for in-house auditions, while Brighton welcomed some thrilling performers for workshops, including Dan Cooke (Matilda) and Akeem Ellis Hyman (Devil Wears Prada).
