Joseph Clayton
Musical Director
Joseph is a Musical Director, Pianist, Vocal/Rep Coach and Arranger currently working around the North West and Midlands predominantly in Musical Theatre.
Joseph studied at Chetham's School of Music and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire leading to a BMus(Hons), later gaining an MA degree in Musical Theatre (Musical Direction) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
His work as a Musical Director and assistant has encompassed a great variety of styles from large and small scale Legit/Contemporary shows, educational workshops, workshops/performances of new British Musical Theatre, Actor-musician pieces, Cabaret series, Music Theatre pieces, Community Choirs, Youth Theatre, MT Showcases and Concerts of varying styles.
These have also lead to expansion in his multi-genre pianist skills leading him to work as a rehearsal pianist, audition pianist and keys player in varying MT styles with multiple companies in both pro and amateur circles.
Alongside his work as an MD Joseph is glad to have had opportunities to work at leading institutions such as The Hammond School, University of Wolverhampton and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in varying roles from vocal coach to singing teacher, repertoire coach and accompanist.
