Jonathan Laikewood

Course Leader - Acting for Stage, Screen and Digital Media

Jonathan trained as an actor at East 15 Acting School and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where he received an MA in Actor Training and Coaching.

Jonathan’s research and practice is centred in working with actors to reduce their self-consciousness; cultivating a confidence which provides a platform for the actor to engage with performance authentically and entirely. As an actor, Jonathan has enjoyed touring Shakespeare and featuring in the odd film - alongside creating theatre with Soho6 punk theatre company ‘Caligula’s Alibi’. Jonathan plays ‘Danny Kawalski’ in 1950’s Rock ‘n’ Roll band ‘Frankie & the Bozboys’  who enjoyed a stint as the resident band at the Old Vic Theatre and have been invited to perform at various prestigious venues across London including the Soho Theatre and The Duke of York’s Theatre. Jonathan is also the bassist in professional touring pop-rock band ‘Chapter and Verse’.

Jonathan has taught and directed at East 15 Acting School, RCSSD, Bird College, the University of Northampton and is now proud to be heading up Acting at Performers College.
