James Murrum

Vocal Lecturer

James trained at LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) where he gained his BA in Music (Performing Arts). He is a trained vocalist, pianist, cellist, musical director, vocal arranger, producer and creative.

Musical direction credits include Seussical (The Arts Theatre); Jack & The Beanstalk (The Woodville, Gravesend); MD/composer for Woyzeck: A Contemporary Reimagining (The Scaffold, Barnet); Into the Woods, Spring Awakening (The Arts Depot, Finchley, for Bodens Performing Arts); Legally Blonde, Into the Woods, Witches of Eastwick, Wicked, Seussical, Chicago (in house, for Masters Performing Arts).

Arrangement credits include working with Custom.i.Sing, Beyond Repair Dance & TAG Talent; BBC’s Pitch Battle; ‘West End MT presents…A Christmas Gift’ iTunes release; MOVE IT showcase theatre creative.

Other credits include various appearances at Cabaret Confidential (The Pheasantry); resident vocalist for Sensatori; resident vocalist at The Arts Club, Mayfair; bandleader & emcee of ‘The James Murrum Band’ aboard P&O’s Britannia.

James has been almost exclusively working in higher education since 2017, at various performing arts colleges and institutions, including Sylvia Young, MEPA, Cossons School of Performing Arts, Bodens, West End MT – and more recently as Head of Singing at Masters Performing Arts.

As of 2021, James is exclusively working alongside Performers, and couldn’t be happier. What a truly exciting time to be part of the Performers brand and family.
