Performers College offers a three-year, full-time professional course leading to The Diploma in Professional Dance or The Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre (PPAD).

The Diploma is validated by Trinity College, London, and is set at level 6 on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). Performers College has been deemed to be an Exemplary Provider of The Diplomas. The Diplomas are equivalent to a BA (Hons) degree, and following graduation, students have the opportunity to convert their diploma to a degree, to give further and widened employment opportunities.

The Trinity Diploma course has very high contact hours to allow you to reach your maximum potential and ensure that you graduate as an industry-ready performer.

The Professional Performing Arts Diplomas were designed to support aspiring professionals wishing to pursue employment opportunities in the performing arts industry by providing formal recognition of the successful completion of full-time performing arts training.

These diplomas give formal recognition to the skills, knowledge and understanding that are acquired in training to become professional dancers, musical theatre performers and actors.

The diploma course contains technical units that are assessed by the course provider’s teaching staff and externally moderated by Trinity College, as well as a performance unit that is assessed directly by Trinity.

Learning outcomes include the development of:

  • Imaginative, expressive and technical skills needed to sustain a career as a professional performing artist.
  • Professional employment skills and relevant knowledge of the industry.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates will be required to attend an audition and demonstrate ability in dance, singing and acting.

 

Course Fees

For fee-paying students, the cost of the Trinity Diploma course is £15,000 per annum.

Fees are subject to change each academic year.

Tuition fees are split into three termly instalments 

Please note that students are unable to access student loans from Student Finance England for the three-year Diploma course.

The Dance and Drama Awards (DaDA) are scholarships funded by the EFSA (Education and Skills Funding Agency), and students from the UK and EU may be eligible. These awards are offered by selected schools to the students displaying the most potential to succeed in the profession. Only students taking an approved Trinity College London qualification will be eligible to be considered for an award. The Dance and Drama Awards are scholarships that are income assessed and may offer reduced tuition fees and support with living costs.

Class names and structure may be subject to change.

Classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, commercial, acting, singing, musical theatre.

One mid-year assessment in each of the following: Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Singing and Acting

Including: Classwork evaluations, research, show reviews and a performance project

Year 2

Class names and structure may be subject to change.

Classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, commercial, acting, singing, musical theatre and acting through song.

One mid-year assessment in each of the following: Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Singing and Acting

Including: Classwork evaluations, research, show reviews and a performance project

Year 3

Class names and structure may be subject to change.

Classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, commercial, acting, singing, musical theatre and acting through song. (Internally assessed and moderated by Trinity)

Performing to an audience in a range of contexts demonstrating all the technical skills acquired through their chosen Key and Supporting technical skills units.

(Externally assessed by Trinity)

Assignments, research, performance project and viva voce

 A series of lectures followed by a series marked tests and relevant associated work.
