Performers College Launches Three Specialist Postgraduate Courses for September 2026
New MA courses in Choreography, Professional Performance, and Theatre Directing designed to meet the evolving needs of the creative industries
Performers College is thrilled to announce the launch of three brand-new postgraduate courses for September 2026 entry, offering aspiring artists and directors the chance to specialise, refine their craft, and prepare for leadership roles in the performing arts.
The new courses – MA Choreography, MA Professional Performance, and MA Theatre Directing – have been developed in direct response to feedback and insights gathered from students and alumni of the college’s previous MA Performing Arts course.
Tailored Pathways for Today’s Creative Professionals
Each course has been carefully designed to provide focused, industry-relevant training that reflects the realities of working in the performing arts today.
MA Choreography (Essex) offers movement artists the opportunity to push creative boundaries and develop their unique choreographic vision through intensive practice, research, and mentorship from leading choreographers.
MA Professional Performance provides three distinct specialisms – Acting (Birmingham), Dance (Manchester), and Musical Theatre (Essex) – allowing emerging performers to train at the highest level with expert mentorship, intensive contact hours, and performance opportunities that directly advance their careers.
MA Theatre Directing (Birmingham) equips aspiring directors with the skills to refine their artistic voice and explore innovative storytelling across stage, digital, and immersive performance spaces.
A Response to Industry Needs
Adam Davenport, Dean of Performers College, commented:
“These three new courses represent an exciting evolution in our postgraduate offering. We’ve listened carefully to feedback and learnings from our MA Performing Arts course, and we’re incredibly proud to launch these specialist pathways that allow students to dive deep into their chosen discipline.
“Whether you’re aspiring to become a professional choreographer, ready to train as a performer at the highest level or want to develop your voice as a theatre director – these courses have been built with you in mind. They reflect where the industry is today and where it’s heading tomorrow.”
