Performers College Birmingham Students Triumph in ‘Skin to Skin’ Production
A groundbreaking physical theatre piece, choreographed and directed by a Performers College lecturer, has captivated audiences at two major Birmingham venues, earning professional credits for our students.
Skin To Skin, created and directed by Francesca Robson, Principal Lecturer of Movement at Performers College Birmingham, addresses contemporary relationships through dynamic storytelling and sophisticated movement motifs. The production emerged from a competitive audition process that saw 13 talented students selected from across all three years of the BA (Hons) Acting for Stage, Screen & Digital Media course.
The piece initially served as a curtain raiser for the &Juliet schools and colleges festival at the prestigious Birmingham Hippodrome, where the performance proved so compelling that the Creative Director invited the production to feature at BSIDE Festival, where it was showcased on two main outdoor stages.
The cast featured Aiobhean Horan, Holly Dunn, Hannah Simpson, Jack Payton, Charlie Haynes, Hollie Thomas, Amelia King, Daniel Otoe, Conor Smith, Matthew Grimes, Reily Ash, Callum Dixon, and Miracle Kamara-Musa, all of whom gained valuable professional experience through their involvement.
The production’s was captured by MetFilm students, with cameras operated by James Morris, Emma Morgan, and Cal Roberts, while Billy Vickerstaff provided drone footage. James Morris handled the editing process. Watch the video of the performance below.
Congratulations from all at Performers College to Francesca and all of the students involved in a successful production.
