Nikki O’Hara

Head of School of Performing Arts - Essex Campus

Nikki trained and graduated from Bird College with a first class degree before going on to tour across the U.K. and Europe. During a 14-year performance career she danced with companies including Motionhouse, Gravity & Levity, Wired Aerial as well as her own company, All Play. She performed as an aerialist in the London Olympics opening ceremony and was solo aerialist at the opening of the European Games in Baku in 2015.

Nikki is a leading dance teacher, previously working as Head of Contemporary and Course Leader for the BA (Hons) programme at Performers College. She choreographed the set phrases for the new GCSE Dance specification and the Advanced 1 and 2 boys’ work for the ISTD’s modern syllabus. Nikki runs an open professional class in London and guest teaches internationally. She has also taught company class for Motionhouse, FreeFall and Drew McOnie.

Nikki has created dance work for film and has produced under her own name three dance shorts – The Spaces In Between, I.AM.ME and Human.
