Louise Howarth

Principal Lecturer of Ballet

Louise trained at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, graduating with a Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance. She spent 12 years working professionally in Germany, beginning her career with the Stadttheater Lübeck as a soloist and corps de ballet dancer. Her classical repertoire included productions such as Giselle, as well as contemporary and musical theatre works.

During her time at Stadttheater Lübeck, she performed in musicals including West Side Story, Evita, and My Fair Lady. Louise later moved fully into musical theatre, performing in large-scale commercial productions such as Buddy Holly - Das Musical (Hamburg), Tabaluga and Lilli (Oberhausen), Miami Nights (Düsseldorf), and Saturday Night Fever (Düsseldorf and European tour), where she also worked as Dance Captain.

After returning to the UK, Louise completed her ISTD teaching qualifications and began teaching at Bodywork Company in Cambridge, where she remained from 2014 to 2021. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Ballet Faculty at Performers College, Essex, where she now holds the position of Principal Lecturer in Ballet.

Louise holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
