Lenny Turner
Associate Lecturer in Singing
Lenny studied at the Royal Academy of Music on their Musical Theatre Performance course (MA). He also studied Music at the University of Birmingham (BMus).
Upon graduating from the Academy, Lenny made his professional debut on the West End as Jamie Wellerstein (Standby) in The Last Five Years. Jonathan O'Boyle directed this production with Leo Munby as Musical Director. The show ran for five weeks at the Garrick Theatre. Lenny then reprised the role on its inaugural International Tour two years later.
His other Musical Theatre credits include Danny Zuko in Grease for Royal Caribbean International (Tony Edge Director). He also played Josh in Halls (Original London cast) at Turbine Theatre (Andy Fickman Director). His credits also include Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls at Frinton Summer Theatre (Janie Dee Director).
Lenny also has a strong background in choral singing. He sang at the opening night of the 2017 BBC Proms, conducted by Edward Gardner (also a Royal Academy alumni). He has also performed at Birmingham Symphony Hall, conducted by the renowned John Wilson.
Lenny is thrilled to work with Performers College as an Associate Lecturer in Singing. He looks forward to meeting the many talented and hard working students on the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre and Dance course.
