Katie Ritson
Principal Lecturer
Originally from Accrington, Katie is a Principal Lecturer and Voice Module Co-ordinator. She holds an MMus in Popular Music Performance (Singing) from the Royal Northern College of Music, and currently teaches classes in singing technique, ensemble singing and musicianship at our Manchester campus, as well as working as the Musical Director on in-house projects, 3rd year performances and agent showcases. Musical Director credits include Yerma (2024), Red Noses (2024), Into the Woods (2023), Little Shop of Horrors (2022), Big Time! (2022), and I See Stars (2021)
Katie is passionate about helping individuals develop their own voices in a healthy and sustainable way, and is committed to curating a safe space for students to conduct in depth exploration of their voices, and equipping them with the necessary skills to thrive in the performing arts industry.
Katie is also a passionate singer-songwriter and arranger, and is currently in the midst of finishing an album of her own songs, due for release in 2025.
