Joe Diggle

Associate Lecturer - Vocals & Musical Director

Joe is a Musical Director, Pianist and Vocal Coach based in the West Midlands.
He lectures in Technical and Ensemble Singing as well as Performance and Repertoire coaching. Outside of Performers College he runs a busy private studio alongside session and project work. He is Musical Director of Unlimited Voices, a large national choir that goes on tour several times a year. He has also worked as musical director on several regional productions, including Made in Dagenham, The Dreaming, Blitz!, Oliver, RENT, Sunshine on Leith, Chicago, West Side Story and Hairspray. He has a cabaret company that performs annually at Phoenix Arts Club on London’s West End.

He trained in classical voice and piano, completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Birmingham. Since then he has studied a PgCert in Higher Education through BIMM University. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Joe has a Diploma of the Royal Schools in Music in Piano Performance.

Joe is passionate about breaking down a scientific framework into smaller components to help his students understand how their voices work. Joe studied the Estill model with Anne-Marie Speed at the Royal Academy of Music. Since then, he has been working with Gillian McLaren-Scott to gain his certification. He is a qualified vocal health first aider. He is a member of the British Voice Association and regularly attends courses to keep his skills and knowledge up to date.
