James Murrum
Vocal Lecturer
James is a vocal coach, musical director & creative, originally from Canterbury, Kent.
James trained at LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts), gaining a BA (Hons) Music (Performing Arts).
James has worked in higher education & vocational training since 2017, working at various institutes & colleges, including Sylvia Young, MEPA, Cossons, Bodens & has previously been Head of Singing at both Masters Performing Arts & West End MT.
James’s additional credits include West End musical direction (Seussical The Musical, Arts Theatre, London), pantomime (Dick Whittington, Broadway Theatre, Barking / Jack & the Beanstalk, Woodville, Gravesend), cruise work (Fred Olsen / P&O), Move It (representing both Performers & Masters), guest creative for TAG, TED UK, Custom.i.Sing, Beyond Repair Dance & has acted as an MD & creative for countless in house musicals & productions for Performers, Masters, Bodens & West End MT.
James has been part of the Performers family since 2017, & has previously helmed the singing department for past courses, including the Pre Vocational foundation course, & the Extended Diploma course.
