Danny Marland
Vocals Lecturer & Musical Director
Danny trained at Leeds Conservatoire, where he studied Music with a focus on production, harmony and composition for moving image. He is currently studying for a Master’s in Voice Pedagogy, furthering his research into vocal technique, learning, and performance. For the past four years, Danny has lectured at our Brighton campus, where his teaching has centred around ensemble singing, music theory, composition and helping performers build confidence through creative exploration. In addition, he regularly works within the creative team on assessed musical productions, supporting students in bringing their performances to the stage.
Alongside teaching, Danny works as a musical director in the music industry, collaborating with both independent and major label artists to shape their live shows. His extensive performance background includes roles as Musical Director, Producer, Songwriter and Session Keys player for a diverse range of artists and musicals. His portfolio spans classical singers, UK rappers, and UK pop artists and bands. Beyond the stage, Danny has composed for Netflix series and independent short films, earning recognition at several international film festivals as well as millions of streams across his catalogue.
Danny brings a strong understanding of business and artist development into his teaching, preparing students to navigate the entertainment industry with confidence. He emphasises collaboration, inclusion and empowerment, fostering a safe environment where students can explore, take risks and develop their artistic voices.
