Damion Scarcella
Vocal Lecturer
Damion Scarcella, an Australian-born Singer, Musical-Theatre Performer, and Vocal Teacher, studied classical voice at The Melba Conservatorium, and Musical theatre at Dance Factory in Melbourne.
He went on to work in the commercial theatre scene in Australia in musicals such as Fame, Shout (Green Room Nominee), Mamma Mia and Leader of the Pack. Moving to London in 2005 meant he was able to broaden his career to not only include more musicals (appearing in Zorro, and The Mikado) but also join a number of successful UK vocal groups, including The Flying Pickets (No 1 Hit “Only You”), The Magnets and the Flyboys and becoming a sought after vocalist on the UK and international concert circuit, including performing alongside Kristin Chenoweth at the Royal Albert Hall.
Since being in the UK, Damion has also written, created and performed a number of his own shows, most notably The Bowlly Years - based around the life of 1930’s singer Al Bowlly and The Sedaka Songbook - a show looking at the writing partnership of Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield. Most recently Damion has been engaged internationally as a headline singer for cruise companies such as Hapag Lloyd, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises. As a teacher, he has worked as a private vocal teacher for over fifteen years his teaching approach incorporates the Estill models approach and Kodaly methodologies.
