Since 2020, Andy has been a Visiting Tutor at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where he teaches Tai Chi, Laban Efforts, and Acting through Movement to BA and MA/MFA Acting students.
From 2017 to 2024, Andy took on leadership roles as Administrator and then Co-director for the School of Playback Theatre UK, significantly contributing to the development of Playback Theatre training across the country.
In addition to his teaching, Andy has directed and co-directed projects such as The Unravelling – A Reimagining of Woyzeck and A Confession of Murder for The Rekindle Ensemble. As Course Leader for the New Earth Academy Birmingham (2022–), he has delivered intensive training programs for emerging performers from East and Southeast Asia Heritage.
Andy's unique approach to acting, which involves the integration of Tai Chi and Qi Gong, is both intriguing and effective. He has worked as a movement director on productions including Lark Rise to Candleford (Hammerpuzzle Theatre Company), Queen Lear, Macbeth, and The Clockmaker’s Daughter (RBC). This integration helps actors develop physical awareness and control, enhancing their performances.
