Alice Brown

Musical Director

Alice is an MD, accompanist and multi-instrumentalist currently based in the Midlands. She graduated from the University of Birmingham and was awarded the Arnold Goldsborough Memorial Prize and Barber Undergraduate Prize during her studies. She then returned to Birmingham to continue her postgraduate studies in music performance.

She has a varied portfolio as an MD and assistant, which includes becoming the inaugural MD for Birmingham Hippodrome’s new Musicals Young Company. Experienced in choral, opera and theatre performance, particular specialisms include period performance practice of early music.

An experienced educator as well as performer, Alice has enjoyed working with young performers in various music services, drama courses and stage schools across the West Midlands.

Alice is also a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music on the recorder and has used the instrument in her theatre career to teach skills in actor-musicianship and ensemble performance.
