Acting

Develop your technique and individual artistry with in-depth training in acting for theatre, film, TV, and recorded media. At our Birmingham Campus, you’ll put what you’ve learnt into practice by performing in short films, radio drama, community theatre, and contemporary and classical plays.

We organise masterclasses and workshops in specialist areas like mask work, puppetry, TV presenting, stage combat, and more – so you’ll graduate with the flexibility to take on a wide range of acting roles. The course culminates in an exciting red-carpet screening of short films, plus a fully produced play.

Dance

Under the guidance of our expert lecturers at Northern Ballet School at our Manchester Campus, you’ll train in a variety of dance disciplines, including ballet, jazz, tap, commercial, and contemporary. For your Final Project, you can choose to specialise in a specific genre of dance.

You’ll keep up to date with current industry trends and make important connections by attending workshops with professional choreographers. Through numerous live and recorded performances, you’ll develop a distinct personal style that will help you stand out from the crowd in a competitive industry.

Musical Theatre

Available at our Essex Campus, this course prepares you to become a triple-threat performer. You’ll receive rigorous training in singing, acting, and dance, delivered by our team of professional choreographers, musical directors, and acting coaches.

We ensure you graduate as a flexible and adaptable performer, able to navigate the ever-changing performing arts industry. Regular masterclasses with professional performers and industry leaders provide insider knowledge and career guidance.

Minimum Requirements

A degree (normally 2.2 or above) in a creative industry-related subject or significant experience in a relevant field. Overseas students where English is not their native language may be required to meet a minimum English language requirement of an Academic IELTS 6.5. We require a minimum of 6.0 to be achieved in each band.

All applicants will be subject to interview and a portfolio may also be requested for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPCEL).

Eligible BIMM University alumni commencing a postgraduate programme with an intake year from 2024 will receive a £1,000 discount on their tuition fees.
