Brighton Facilities
Our main Brighton campus, The Circle, is on the seafront in Portslade, a short bus ride from the city centre.
This substantial complex boasts theatre spaces, dance studios, Mac suite, changing areas, a spacious reception with an amphitheatre and plenty of self-study and communal spaces. You’ll find a space to suit your performance style, with all the equipment you need to develop your unique creative expression. Our Brighton campus is also one of the few university sites in the UK to have its own motion capture suite.
You’ll have access to all our facilities, as well as opportunities to use facilities at BIMM Music Institute and MetFilm School when working on collaborative projects.
Theatre Spaces
Our main theatre space seats 150 people, and features a sprung floor, full professional sound and lighting rig, and hosts Our two smaller ‘black box’ theatre spaces cater to audiences of 60 persons each, and also feature professional lighting and sound. Our theatre also features a substantial prop and costume store for use in student productions.
Professional Studio Spaces
We have four spacious dance studios, which all feature sprung floors, mirrors, ballet barres, PA system and piano. Added to our well-equipped theatre spaces above, and including four additional rehearsal spaces you’ll have everything you need to excel in your chosen pathway.
Motion Capture Suite
Our Brighton campus is one of few universities in the UK to have our own Motion Capture suite. This facility allows both acting and musical theatre students to translate movement into digital performance, for use in projects from film and video games to dance and movement study.
Mac Suite and Communal Areas
Our Mac suite features 15 high specification Mac computers, each containing a range of audio and visual software useful to creative professionals. Each station is equipped with a recording interface and midi controller.
Our main communal area features snack and drink vending machines and plenty of seating for those essential breaks and social moments between classes. Our open – plan reception area features amphitheatre seating and bookable ‘study pod’ seating areas for individual or small group study.
