Manchester campus partners with Wayne McGregor CBE to launch Future Talent Scholarship
Our Manchester campus is delighted to announce that we have partnered with multi-award-winning choreographer and director, Wayne McGregor CBE, to launch a brand-new initiative for 2024 – The Wayne McGregor Future Talent Scholarship.
The Wayne McGregor Future Talent Scholarship aims to support aspiring artists from low-income households or under-represented groups within the creative industries. The scholarship will cover the full 3-year tuition fees for one exceptional candidate who demonstrates significant talent, creative potential, and a strong motivation to pursue a career in the arts.
Wayne McGregor expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating,
“It’s our responsibility to champion the younger generation of artists and release opportunities for them to do really extraordinary things. I am delighted to be partnering with Northern Ballet School and Performers College Manchester to announce the Wayne McGregor Future Talent Scholarship. This is an exceptional opportunity for an outstanding individual to pursue a career in dance. Vocational schools are critically important in our dance ecology, not only because they train, nurture, and feed exceptional talent into dance companies across the world, but because they often light the fire for young people to create their own work and develop their own practice, whether that be dancing, teaching, administrating, producing, or advocating for and with dance. I look forward to witnessing the development of these emerging artists and am excited to see how they use this opportunity to hone and develop their individual voices through dance.”
The scholarship will support undergraduate degree study across our performing arts courses at Performers College Manchester.
