Welcome to your monthly roundup of what’s going on at Performer’s College, from student and graduate success to on-campus events and achievements. Are you ready for the Backstage Buzz?

Brighton and Manchester campuses begin show season

Show season is well underway at our Brighton and Manchester campuses, with Brighton’s successful performances of The Suspects, BLANK and Mary Stuart, plus Manchester’s production of The Best Musical Ever? last weekend. Congratulations to all of our BA Performing Arts students who took part. Still to come from our Manchester Acting for 21st Century students is Fear and Misery in the Third Reich from 8-10 May.

Performers College graduates set sail on cruise contracts

Congratulations to a host of graduates currently aboard a range of cruise ships travelling the world – Ellie Lara (MSC Cruises) Sophie Powell and Lydia Wilding (Cunard), George Harper (Choir of Man on NCL), Amy Cockroft (Royal Caribbean), Ella-Lisa Alexander (Fred Olsen Cruise Lines) and Lyndan Barclay (Jersey Boysfor on NCL)

Graduates star in international shows

Back on land, we’re also celebrating some recent graduate announcements. Amelia Keenan has joined the Fame European Tour, Rene Becker is appearing in Disney’s Hercules in Hamburg, Emma Jane Smith is in the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang UK tour Matt Powell will be on the Moulin Rouge World Tour and Katie Dunsden has joined Pretty Woman in Zurich, Switzerland. Congratulations all.

Birmingham actors begin rehearsals for first Level 6 shows

Birmingham’s BA Acting for Stage Screen and Digital Media cohort have begun work on their Level 6 final shows. This marks our first Level 6 productions on the course. The shows are Top Girls (Crescent Theatre, 16/17 April) and One Man Two Guvnors (Old Rep Theatre, 25-26 April).

Northern Ballet School celebrates student successes

Huge congratulations to Jazz Focus graduate Leo Thrower, who has joined the cast of Hairspray onboard the Symphony of the Seas; Anna-Grace Heathman, who is embarking on her second professional contract as production dancer onboard the Costa Fortuna for PEEL Talent; Jazz Focus graduate Oli Bowker, who has just started rehearsals for his first professional contract as Production Dancer onboard the Queen Victoria for Cunard Line; and graduate Keisha Allchurch, who has secured a contract as Dancer/Singer on board the Seabourne Sojourn for Belinda King Productions.
