Deputy Course Leader - BA (Hons) Musical Theatre and Dance

Sarah Varnam has been working in the industry for over 25 years. Her portfolio includes acting, voice over artist, director, educator and directing mentor and consultant.

She studied at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama graduating with a BA in Acting and Warwick University as a post-graduate student and has enjoyed a varied career in the creative industries.

She has worked in theatre and television and as a voice over artist has been lucky enough to participate in the advertising of commercial brands and is the Voice of God (VOG) for university graduation ceremonies at De Montfort University.

Sarah has a passion of engaging students in all aspects of the creative industries from business to cultural theory; broadening the understanding and developing perspectives that make up the varied and evolving landscape of the arts.

As a drama specialist, Sarah covers all acting techniques and works with students to hone their stylistic choices within genre and the development of repertoire in readiness for their careers in the industry.
