Rob Hemming

Associate Lecturer - Movement & Dance

Rob is a Dutch-British dance artist based in Birmingham UK. He studied at ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands & London Contemporary Dance School - The Place - in the UK where he received a BA (Hons) degree in Contemporary Dance.

Rob enjoys working a diverse portfolio taking on different roles within the performing arts. Rob is a BBC New Creative, founding Steering Group member for Birmingham Professional Class, co-director of Dance Co-operative Birmingham, creative lead for Tom N Rob and works as a performer, movement director, teacher, creative support worker and consultant.

In the last few years Robert has developed his own work with funding of Arts Council England and has created an award winning dancefilm aired on BBC FOUR. Robert has recently toured the UK as a puppeteer, dancer and theatre artist. Some of Rob's highlights include performing across Europe and Russia as well as working on the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony and the Capital FM Summertime Ball in Wembley Stadium.
