Singing Tutor

Following a BAHons from Durham University Kate studied Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music graduating with a DipRAM, LRAM and was later made an honorary Associate of the RAM.

Theatre credits include Diane - Come From Away (Phoenix Theatre), Tanya - Mamma Mia (Novello Theatre, London and International tour), originating the role of ‘Cherry Sundae’ in Sam Mendes’ Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane), Mrs Wilkinson - Billy Elliot (Victoria Palace theatre), Hold Me Touch Me - The Producers (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane), Babette - Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Dominion Theatre, London and National Tour), A Bowl of Cherries (Charing Cross Theatre), Lucy - The Thing About Men (Landor Theatre), Miranda - A Comedy of Arias (King’s Head and Jermyn St), Beggar Woman - Sweeney Todd (Derby Playhouse), Step- mother - Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Bristol Old Vic), Elvira - High Spirits (Bridewell), Dick Barton Special Agent (Croydon Warehouse and National Tour), Curse of the Pharaoh’s Tomb (Greenwich), Jerry Springer The Opera (BAC), No Way to Treat a Lady (Art’s Theatre).

Kate has a wide range of concert and recording experience, mostly with Capital Voices. Solo concert work includes Christmas Singalong (Glasgow Royal Concert Halls), Friday Night is Music Night (Radio 2), Abba Symphonic (BSO), Cole Porter Classics (RFH and Bridgewater Hall) and RAF Central Band. Backing vocals for numerous artists including Westlife, Kylie and The Feeling at Proms in the Park, Russell Watson, Lesley Garrett, Cliff Richard, Elaine Paige, Michael Ball, KD Lang, John Wilson Orchestra and soundtrack recordings include Mary Poppins Returns, Galavant, Nine, Cats and Jesus Christ Superstar. Kate appeared in Fiddler on the Roof (as Chava), Guys and Dolls (as Mimi) and Sweet Charity with the Stephen Hill Singers for BBC Radio 2. TV work includes the part of Fay in the BBC sitcom Breezeblock, and vocals for Lily Live, National Lottery, Parkinson, This is my Moment and Star for a Night.

Alongside her professional work, Kate has always enjoyed working with private students at home and has taken masterclasses and private lessons at several colleges including MPAA and Performers College snd has recently graduated from GSMD with a PGCert in Performance education. She was also the assistant children’s director at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, London and thoroughly enjoyed working with the talented mini cast on their performance.
