Francesca Robson

Principle Lecturer in Movement

Francesca Robson is a movement director and practitioner born in Wolverhampton. After training, she quickly began creating powerful movement pieces that explore social topics.

Her works include: The Shed (Belgrade Theatre and Underground Lights), Faith (Royal Shakespeare Company), Moving On (Women & Theatre), Eyes Closed (Pilot Theatre), and Skin to Skin (Birmingham Hippodrome). Additionally, Francesca joined and performed with Frantic Assembly's Ignition Company. Her practice draws heavily from the freedom of movement and its ability to tell stories.

Community practice forms the heart of her work. Francesca directed movement for the closing parade for Coventry City of Culture. Furthermore, she worked on the Canley Parade with the Warwick Arts Centre where she recently finished her Artist in Residency.

Francesca has collaborated with many charities and institutions including MIND and Arts and Homelessness International. Currently, she works at the Birmingham Hippodrome as an Artist Facilitator, specializing in movement alongside her role at Performers College.
