Performers College Pre Vocational Course

Performers College is one of the UK’s leading Vocational Performing Arts Colleges, with an established and highly successful Pre  Vocational Course. On completing the Pre  Vocational Course the vast majority of students are accepted onto a three year full time course; this may be at Performers College or another Vocational training establishment.

Reasons for choosing a Pre Vocational Course

A Pre Vocational course may be suitable if you have areas of weakness in your training or talent but limited experience. It may also be of use if you have applied for a Diploma course and been unsuccessful in obtaining funding.

A Pre Vocational course at Performers College will:

  • Strengthen technical ability in all dance genre, improve vocal standard and acting ability
  • Increase confidence and presentation and delivery during auditions
  • Give an understanding of how the body works with knowledge of safe working practice, personal strengths and limitations
  • Maximize the opportunity to gain a place on a three year course where applicable

From 2006 to 2009, 86% of students completing the Pre Vocational course went on to full time training. The graduates of 2010 achieved a 96% success rate in gaining places in full time training. Since 2015 100% of students have been successful!

Course Content

The one year course will include Ballet, Tap and Jazz Technique Classes as well as Contemporary Workshops,Singing, Acting , Voice and Musical Theatre.  Additional classes will cover Health & Safety issues and Contextual Studies.

You will also be advised on auditioning for a full time course.

The students are continually assessed and receive a written report at the end of each term and a full report at the end of the year.

You will also have the opportunity to perform in your own production in May.

Tuition Fees

Details of current fees are available upon request. Cheques are payable to Performers College. We can also accept electronic bank transfers and debit/credit cards. The information required for this can be obtained from the office. Fees are payable on or before the commencement of each term. In cases of hardship, special arrangements for payment of tuition fees may be considered. Any such arrangements must be confirmed in writing. In the event of a student withdrawing from the course, one terms written notice must be given. Failure to give notice will entail payment of the full fee.
